RNLI Sunderland

Wandering around Roker marina yesterday evening I spotted a RNLI training session in progress. One of the guys was photographing all of the action, presumably to be able to present a portfolio showing the procedure to be followed.

After launching the boat they took it out for a spin on the North Sea. It all looks like great fun - when the weather is good!

Fire and Wind Turbines

Seen en route to work on Monday. Someone has lit a pile of forest trimmings above the Wear valley, while in the distance is the wind farm at the Nissan factory.

The A80 point and shoot camera shows its weakness here, notice how areas of the sky are completely blown out, but it's a nice enough image, in my view.

3 days later and the field is ready for cultivation.

The Lakes

Not quite in the NE of England, but close enough for a day trip! These shots were taken in late March, but it has taken a while for me to get some decent scans from Jessops. However persistence does pay off!
