Sustrans Rangers Attack Stanley

Sustrans volunteer rangers took on a a section of the coast to coast C2C cycle path near Stanley in Co. Durham last weekend.

The sun shone in Filey on the North Yorkshire coast when I took these photos, although it was a tad breezy.

A grab shot suffering from a bit of camera shake, but worth publishing I feel. The lad was OK, he got wet but remained safe.

Heron Stalks Canada Geese Goslings - Grasmere

Walking beside Grasmere lake we noticed people watching a spectacle being played out between a family of canada geese and a heron. The hungry heron clearly wanted a gosling for tea, but the parents were trying to keep him at bay.

Each time the heron got too close he was chased by one of the parents

but he was a persistent bird and always returned, patiently waiting for an opportunity!
